Some 397 graduating students at Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC)-Mamburao Campus, together with some personnel of the 76th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, the employees of Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (OMECO) and employees of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) participate in the tree planting activity held on September 24, 2016 at the Centennial Forest in Brgy. Tubili, Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.

As part of the extension program of OMSC, the said tree planting activity was conducted pursuant to the earlier Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between the DENR and OMSC, as represented by the respective head of both office, that each year all graduating students will take part in the tree planting activity in support of the implementation of the National Greening Program.

Some two weeks earlier, the same graduating students had participated in the Orientation Seminar on the National Greening Program (NGP) conducted by the IEC Team of PENRO held on September 9, 2016 at the covered quadrangle of located within the school campus.

Wilfredo T. Aquino, the PENRO IEC Officer, had coordinated with the Campus Director, Dr. Cristina A. Caponpon, Ph.D., the conduct of the orientation seminar on NGP. Likewise, he together with Forester Roderick S. Orpilla, some extension officers and the Campus Extension Coordinator, Judy A. Catalo, DBA, had paved the way that expedited the transport of the students to and from the planting site through the trucks provided by the Municipal Government of Mamburao.

The hauling/ handling of planting materials was coordinated through Forest Technician II, Pedro Marmol, from the Provincial Central Arboretum in Sitio Baclaran, Brgy. Pinagturilan, Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro to the plantation site.
